Attitude Adjustment

It has been noted that our lives are possibly determined as follows: 10% in relation to what happens to us, and 90% in relation to our attitude about what happens to us.

As a generation that is awaiting the return of Christ for His people, we must determine with mind and heart – intellect and emotions, to conduct our Father’s business in the realm of Biblical Attitudes. We must not interpret people or occurrences with only a mental response and neither must we interpret with only an emotional response.

We will never be able to effectively minister unto the attitudes of others until we first have been taught by Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to transform our minds and hearts with the “ATTITUDES” of what and how we can “BE.”

A wise elderly minister shared valuable counsel with some of us younger ministers at a pastor seminar:  “Let the mind and heart of the Master be the master of your mind and heart.”

In this book, you will be challenged and encouraged to purpose, with mind and with heart, to not only follow Jesus to the mountain and there thrill to His authoritative sayings (Matthew 7:28,29); but also determine to follow when He leads us “down from the mountain” (Matthew 8:1) to where the leper and centurion await to hear our attitude expressed and see our attitude displayed.

Behavior In The House Of God

Followers of Christ are to have a special relationship with God and His house. The apostel Paul addressed this issue for the benefit of his generation and it is an issue that is still relevant for our generation.

“These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly: But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” (I Timothy 3:14,15).

This concept was not new for the early church. It was a concept that was ingrained in every aspect of God’s desired relationship between Israel and the tabernacle and later the temple. A correct relationship between Israel and the house of God was imperative for their own benefit and it also served as a role model to individuals and nations that were observing their practice.

Just as the concept was not new for the early church, it was not God’s intention for the concept to perish with the early church. A correct relationship between the Christian and the house of God is still imperative for our own benefit and for our witness to those who are observing our practice.

Why I Am A "Sabbath-keeping" Christian

Because I grew up in a "Sunday-keeping" Christian church, many have asked since I became a "Sabbath-keeping" Christian, "Why do you now go to church on Saturday? What caused you to make the change?" This book is a result of my answering that question: "Why?"

If you are a "Sabbath-keeping" Christian, this book will serve to affirm that you travel a path that is worthy of understanding. Your path does not, in and of itself, make you a better Christian than "Sunday-keeping" Christians. But, at the same time, neither does it make you less of a Christian.

If you are not a "Sabbath-keeping" Christian, this book will serve to unfold the reasons why many have chosen and will continue to choose to travel a path that is different from yours and their choice is worthy of your understanding. Their path does not, in and of itself, make them a better Christian than you, as a "Sunday-keeping" Christian. But, at the same time, neither does it make them less of a Christian.

Volumes – some immense in size and scope – have been written on this subject. I have been impressed to keep it, as we say in the South, short and sweet.

Debates – some heavy and heated – have been waged on this subject. I have been impressed to refrain from such a spirit and rather just share Why I Am A "Sabbath-keeping" Christian.

The reviews of this new book have ALL been basically the same: "This will be one of the most balanced witnessing tools available."

O Lord, Revive Thy Work

To God, the church is a unique organism upon which He longs to lavish His affection so as to reveal the manifold benefits that can be enjoyed through a vital connection with the Creator. The church is indeed a channel through which He delights to reveal His ability to transform personalities and characters.

O LORD, REVIVE THY WORK explores the need for revival and reformation relative to Biblical principles concerning Reconciliation, Commitment, Prayer, Praise, Study, Evangelism, and Benevolence. The application of these seven areas will greatly assist the reader to be a more anointed vessel in relating to God and others in a positive manner. Throughout the book the prayer of the Old Testament prophet is echoed, "O Lord, revive Thy work" (Habakkuk 3:2).

* This is a book that needs to be read by every pastor and every pastor needs to recommend for reading by his or her parishioners.

Doctrinal Decisions

Just because a majority subscribes to a particular position does not necessarily make it true and just because a minority holds a certain view does not necessarily make it false.

A Christian can avoid much confusion if he or she will just stay within the confine of the Word of God.

When we  discover that something held by Christianity is not taught in the Bible, but is the production of man’s ingenuity; all kinds of red flags should start to wave. It is dangerous to build a doctrine on a part and not on the whole and it is to be feared that too many of our generation are accepting things just because others tell them. We must not hold onto traditions and customs, but we must allow the Bible to reveal God’s Standard.

DOCTRINAL DECISIONS takes a look at several key doctrinal areas and as you read this book you will be introduced to a plain thus saith the Scripture in regard to these issues.

Gateways To Glory

The oldest continuing miracle is that concerning Revelation. This miracle is still in the process of unfolding – even to this hour. Because of this, all of Scripture is to be accepted, since Its intention was planned by God – whether concerning types, antitypes or realities, and should speak to us as Specific Truth.

Most Scripture Truths have at least a two-fold meaning in regard to fulfillment: First, that of historical or local significance; Second, that of spiritual significance. For, "all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (II Timothy 3:16).

Upon investigating the book of Nehemiah, it becomes clear that God’s Spirit desired to preserve intricate details of a special building project. With a miraculous melody of praise, Nehemiah was instrumental in inspiring the rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem. Within this wall were inserted twelve gates – three on each of four sides – gates of not mere wood or stone, but actually, GATEWAYS TO GLORY, which stood as a memorial-type to God’s "Complete Plan Of Redemption."

In GATEWAYS TO GLORY, the "Plan Of Salvation," as revealed in the Bible, is explored as it is systematically displayed through the twelve gates that were inserted within the restored wall of Jerusalem under the ministry of Nehemiah. This book takes an insightful look at this historic construction and makes a practical application to our relationship to God and one another – today.

The prayer and purpose of this book is to assist each respective reader in becoming a more effective testimony to the fact that: "The God of Heaven, He will prosper us," because we are "His servants" (Nehemiah 2:20).

Is There Not A People?

Innocently I decided to share the results of my Biblical research at the Wednesday night meetings at the church I was then pastoring. Those Bible studies hit a theological raw nerve and the reaction caused disharmony and sent me into a depression that nearly destroyed my marriage and career. The tension became so bad that my wife separated from me for a while, and I was asked to resign my pastorate. All because of some Bible studies I thought would inspire my members.

We moved to another state and I found a job as a salesman, vowing never to stand behind a pulpit again. For two years I kept my vow. Then one day when I was home alone, the dammed-up grief burst. Going to the desk drawer I found the research that had almost devastated my life and began to tear it to shreds. At the same time I screamed at the top of my lungs to God, "Is there not a people? Is there not a people who want to hear all You have to say?" Over and over I demanded it until I collapsed to the floor from exhaustion.

IS THERE NOT A PEOPLE is the story of God’s answer to my question – the story of my spiritual journey in search of people who honor the Biblical truths God’s Holy Spirit had brought me to accept. God guided me back to the pulpit by amazing and even miraculous paths. It is a story that reveals the providence and love behind God’s dealing with us.

This is a story you will want to READ and SHARE with others.
